Noritz NRC111

The Noritz NRC111 is a condensing tankless water heater.  This is the only condensing tankless that Noritz makes and it produces 11.1 gallons of hot water per minute.

The Noritz NRC111 utilizes a dual heat exchanger, which is made from a fusion of stainless steel and copper exchangers.  The 100% stainless steel component captures the residual heat from the exhaust temperature to preheat the incoming water before it runs through the main copper heat exchanger.  This results in dramatic reduction of carbon dioxide and increases the tankless heater’s efficiency level to over 93%!  Another benefit of this technology is lower exhaust temperatures, which means less costly PVC can be used for its venting. A PVC adapter is built into the Noritz heater for easy installation.

Noritz Tankless

Noritz vision is to fundamentally change the way hot water is viewed within North America. A transition that can reduce the negative environmental effects caused by manufacturing and using inefficient water heating appliances. Yet, comfort will not be sacrificed as technology is making water heating over 90% efficient.

Models

Noritz has a number of tankless water heaters, but only a select few are really capable of being used in Canada and Ontario for that matter. These below are the most popular tankless models currently.

  • NR66
  • NR71
  • NR83
  • NR98
  • NR111
  • NRC111

The NRC111 is Noritz condensing tankless coming in around the 92% efficiency range.

Rental or Leasing Tankless

Tankless Technology

Tankless water heaters use the latest in electronics and gas burning technology to provide an endless supply of hot water. Heating water only when it’s needed provides energy savings not found with conventional storage tanks water heaters.

How Expensive?

This new technology is more expensive than conventional tanks and can prohibitive for home owners to purchase.  You should know that there are options available to ease this transition.  Renting or leasing a tankless can help you overcome the cost barrier and there is still the option to purchase the unit at the end of 10 years (the length of most contracts).

Rental Tankless

You are still eligible for rebates and Government incentives when renting a tankless and if anything goes wrong the unit its completely covered while renting. A rental tankless price will fluctuate from home to home as venting and piping requirements are always different…. So just fill out the quick form below and find out for free how much you can save.

Navien Rebates

Navien Tankless water heaters are available for rebates sponsored by the Ontario Government.  These cash incentives have been put in place to help convince you the home owner the switch to a more efficient home water heating system.  Newer technology comes with higher costs and these rebates help to offset the cost of a tankless water heater.

So you have decided to go for a Navien tankless water heater, how much can you expect to get back?

Navien Tankless Rebates

  • Navien  CC-210A  – $375
  • Navien  CC-240A- $375

Basically all Navien Tankless Water heaters are eligible for the $375 Grant as the they are all condensing units.

Navien makes the most efficient tankless available on the market but be cautious and make sure you are getting a good new generation unit as the old versions had and still have MANY issues (see issues here).

Don’t forget rental tankless systems are still eligible for rebates.

Rinnai Rebates

Rinnai Tankless water heaters are available for Government rebates and incentives.  These have been put in place by the Provincial Government to spur on the adoption of tankless water heaters in homes.  A tankless reduces you natural gas consumption considerable compared to a conventional tank.

The current program is coming to an end (March 2011) but will be replaced with a new (smaller incentive) program.  The Government underestimated its popularity and is stuck paying the higher grant values. So if you live in Toronto, Oakville , Hamilton, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Richmond Hill, Maple, Vaughan, etc etc your in luck!

Rinnai Rebate Amounts

  • Rinnai R94Lsi – $315
  • Rinnai R75Lsi – $315
  • Rinnai RC80Hpi – $375
  • Rinnai RC98Hpi – $375

From time to time there are additional tankless rebates from the tankless manufacturer or the installation company.

Heat Exchanger

Navien tankless water heaters utilizes dual stainless steel heat exchangers, providing 3.8 to 4.5 times longer life-expectancy and erosion resistance over the copper heat exchangers used in other tankless brands. Navien’s heat exchangers operate with relatively low water temperature, minimizing damage from hard water conditions and maintains efficiency levels. Its always important to have your tankless flushed once every 2 years or so to remove any buildup from within the heat exchangers.

Efficiency

Because of Naviens high efficiency the tankless can be vented in PVC piping.  Basically excess heat is exhausted with all the combustion gasses in conventional tank systems but a Navien uses this to further heat the water. This results in significantly lower exhaust temperatures and allows for the use of PVC exhaust vent piping.
