Mississauga Tankless
Sep 15th
Mississauga is one of those cities that really seems to be charmed with the tankless water heater. Maybe it’s the size or the
number of homes but a good 40 percent of all tankless leads seem to come from this area. It could be that Mississauga residents know where the future is headed…..
Think about it.. If it was forecast to be a cold winter morning in Mississauga you wouldn’t leave your car running all night so that it warm for you in the morning would you? Probably not…. Yet we all do this every single night with our conventional tank water heaters.
There never was a better time to install a tankless system in Mississauga homes than there is now. The Government is offering grants and incentives to houses in Mississauga to upgrade your water heater. Find out how much you can receive and if a system can be installed in your home by having a free consultation from a certified tankless REP.

Rent a Rinnai Tankless
|
A tankless water heater can be an expensive upgrade for a homeowner. Sure the system will save you money on natural gas or propane but there is a large sum of money to come up with initially that takes a while to recoup.
Renting a Rinnai Tankless
We facilitate the renting if Rinnai tankless systems which only cost $39.95 a month, there is no installation fees and any breakdown or maintenance fees are completely covered as you are only renting the system. Tankless systems have a lifespan of over 20 years, if after a set period of time you decide you want to purchase it, no problem.
The Federal Government removing their portion of grant money has reduced the incentive to purchase these units and thus booting the value in a rental system. In all likelihood you are probably renting a conventional tank already why not upgrade to unlimited hot water and save a bunch of money off your gas bill (in most cases it easily offsets the additional rental costs.

End of Government Grants for Tankless

Grants End
|
In a surprise announcement on Thursday April 1 2010, the Federal government suspended the Ecoenergy retrofit program. This program aided homeowners in upgrading their existing HVAC equipment to more energy efficient models, thus reducing greenhouse gases that homes emitted substantially. The program was axed due to its popularity, more than 3 times more Canadians participated than the Government had anticipated. Typical government fashion, lets end anything that is actually working and making a change. This puts more than 2000 energy auditors and countless other support staff out of jobs, and that’s only in Ontario.
Can I Still Get An Audit?
Unfortunately, you can not get an audit anymore. There are no more grants available for tankless water heaters from Federal or Provincial governments.
- The Ontario provincial government was matching all grants, this has also ended.
- This isnt the end, there will be incentives from companies and manufactures to try and maintain the low entry cost for a tankless water heater.
- Check back here as we will be following the situation and posting any updates.
I Have Had My D-Audit, Will I Not Get My Grants?
- If you have had your D-Audit but nit your final E-Audit then you are lucky. The Government will still honour all rebates and upgrades that you do. You have until April 1 2011 to perform any upgrades and have your final E-Audit. I would recommend that you look into upgrading as much as you can over the next year, you can get $1500 back on a new furnace and $750 on a tankless water heater, and even more on roof and wall insulation. Your in a good situation, I would definitely take advantage of it.
Is a Tankless Water Heater Even Worth It Now?
- Even though you are not able to get the grants for a tankless water heater the cost to benefit is still greater than having and maintaining you conventional tank water heater.
- Natural Gas and Electricity prices are only on the rise, any system that can cut their use by over 40% will net you savings.
- If you need a loan to purchase a tankless rates are still exceptionally low
- Our rental rates haven’t changed, you can still rent a tankless for $39.95 a month

Tankless Purchasing Guide

Guide For Tankless Purchase
|
Did you know that in your home you are probably paying $60.00 or more per month to simply maintain the heat in a conventional tank type heater? How is this possible? Its simple, your regular tank loses its heat up the flue, or out the chimney, then when the water cools it reheats, and send more money and heat out the chimney. This is occurring even while you’re sleeping or at work.
You likely use most of your hot water in the evenings and morning, do you ever run out? Tankless water heaters are able to overcome these problems. A tankless never runs out of water and can have efficiencies in the high 90’s, you will never run out of hot water in your shower with a tankless.
All of the Earths resources are finite and thus as supplies become scarcer prices will continue to increase, minimizing your consumption reduces your bills. A tankless uses energy only when you ask it to provide hot water, a conventional take keeps water hot even when you’re not there, costing you money. Tankless water heaters will save you more money over their lifespan (20 plus years) than it will cost for the new unit. Plus a Tankless water heater takes up limited amounts of space, is easy to clean, and is easily operated.
Tankless Brand and Venting. With all the different brands available to consumers there is a plethora of venting options to vent the various units. Some tankless water heaters can be vented horizontally and others can vent vertically. The majority of tankless water heaters also have computerized safety devices to protect consumers. Most conventional tanks don’t have these advanced safety features.
Applications and Uses. Some applications of tankless water heaters are: boats, mobile homes, RV’s, and radiant heating systems.
Return on investment. The payback period for tankless water heater is between 3 to 7 years, this is dependent on both energy cost and personal use. If you are a high hot water consumer it will speed up the payback process, if you normally use very little hot water then the payback takes a little longer. Remember though, tankless hot water heaters experience zero standby heat loss and this are much more efficient than conventional tanks.
Energy Audits. Currently the Ontario Government has an incentive program that promotes home energy efficiency. It starts with a home energy audit that assesses the current efficiency of your home, after it is completed a report outlining the current state is sent to the home owner. There is an 18 month period for any renovations to take place; once they are completed a follow up audit is preformed to confirm that all retrofits have been accomplished. At this point grants and incentives are sent from the government to the retrofitted home owner to offset some of the costs.Just installing a tankless water heater qualifies you for $500. Check out the Audit page HERE.
Tankless Lifespan. The expected life of a tankless water heater is roughly 20 years. We have customers who still have their tankless water heaters and it has been in service for more than 20 years. A major reason for this is that tankless water heaters are serviceable, unlike conventional (disposable) tank type water heaters.
Find out more. Tankless water heaters will serve you and your homes hot water needs for years to come with reliable performance. It is important that you size and install them correctly for this type of performance. This is where we at the Tankless Hot Water Guide can help, fill out the contact form and we will contact you to set up a free In Home Consultation. The REP will be able to guide you in your purchase by measuring your water consumption and advising you as to where a tankless can be installed.
