Well it looks as though the EcoEnergy audit program has been approved for another year.

This was an extremely popular program put in 3 years ago that enabled home owners to receive upwards of $10000 in government grants and rebates. Technically it would be really difficult to get that much but it did provide a significant reduction on a number of home systems. Initially the ecoEnergy program was funded with over $700 million dollars but as it grew in popularity the funding became more scarce. The Federal pulled their funding last year in an attempt to slow the demand. This left Provincial Government to fund and promote the home energy audit and grants available.

As you likely have heard in the news the Conservative Government has allocated $400 million to reinstate their share of the available grants to home owners. What does this mean to you? Well if your looking for a tankless water heater (which I would assume is why you are here) you will be entitled to a grant of over $700 dollars. That is a good portion of what a tankless will cost over a conventional tank.

So if your housing an antique water heater in your basement now is probably a good time to upgrade to a tankless and get the Government to pay for a good portion of the system.

Receive Government Grant Cheques Without Buying a Tankless….

The Government is offering free grants and incentives to Toronto and Ontario home owners who upgrade their existing water heaters to higher efficiency tankless units. These tankless water heaters do cost more than conventional systems but they use less natural gas and have a much longer lifespan. The trick is that you can still get access to grant money by simply renting a tankless water heater.

Renting a tankless will yield you between $325 and $375 plus additional benefits like a home energy audit analysis and significant energy savings. Generally a tankless rental unit is between $39 and $49 a month but it does depend on the size of unit you need for your home and if you go with condensing or a regular tankless.

Rinnai is the primary rental tankless water heater due to its superb reliability, but for the most part any brand of tankless will work. Additionally the benefit of renting the unit is that if anything goes wrong the company supplying the tankless will be out to fix it immediately.

So if you want an extra $300 bucks plus in your pocket and a brand new high efficiency water heater in your home think about renting a tankless and get those Government rebates!

Rebates Are Still Available!

Most people think that the Eco Energy rebate program has ended but it is still ongoing and it will likely be re-instated upon its scheduled closing.

If your interested in getting a tankless water heater for your home then you can still be eligible for rebate and grants from the Canadian Government to offset the higher cost of the tankless. You will need to participate in the Government Eco Energy Audit Program to become eligible for the grants.

The Energy Audit tells you information about your home and is a lot of value to most home owners, you will also gain access to grant money for home insulation, toilets, furnaces, air conditioners, etc.

How much rebate for a Tankless?

This is a common question and it changes with the tankless water heater you buy. You can expect $315 for any tankless that has an efficiency rating below 92%. If you go with a condensing tankless which will bring your efficiency rating up in between 94% to 98% you will receive $375.

Tankless water heaters are notoriously difficult to install and thus a representative needs to come out and assess your home. They can answer any further questions you have and help decide where you would like the unit installed (remember it mounts on the wall).

We have install thousands of tankless water heaters in Toronto and surrounding areas. Etobicoke has proven to be one of those locations where the system will usually go in without a hitch. The water in Etobicoke is well suited for a tankless system as there is not much buildup or scaling produced by it. Most homes are serviced by natural gas and provided at a reasonable cost to home owners. Venting has proven to be quite easy as homes seem to all meet requirements set out by Canadian Governments and the Tankless manufactures.

Now that the Ontario Government has reactivated the grants that were available to home owners its a great time to send us a message and have someone out to your home and make sure that a tankless water heater can be installed in your home.

If your interested in having a home energy audit done first please go here to book one.

Looking to install a tankless water heater in the Markham region? We are able to provide you with a free quote and advice on any questions or concerns that you may have regarding these new systems. Installing a tankless water heater in Markham Ontario works we as we constantly have service technicians in the area should any emergency situation occur. We are also in the area enough that for the most part the detached homes provide the greatest chance for a tankless heater install. Toronto homes typically are harder to install tankless systems because homes frequently only have two sides to vent any appliance from, thus reducing install success.

Live in Markham and interested in a Tankless quote?

Fill out the form and we can send out a REP who can make sure that the tankless system can even be installed. The government home energy audit program is ending soon which eliminates the $750 government rebate for a tankless water heater. If you have any further question add them to the bottom of this form and we will respond to you with an email outlining the answers. Please be patient it could take a day or two for us to go through all the inquiries.

So you are interested in getting a tankless water heater, here is a run down of what you can expect if you decide to choose us for the purchase and install.

Firstly we send a REP out to your home to assess and determine if a tankless system can even be installed. Tankless water heaters have additional venting and placement codes that have to be met for a system to be installed, on average 20% of homes are unable to vent legally. Next the REP will determine your needs and your water usage, looking at the number of people living there, number of bathrooms, and amount of appliances that require hot water. Then the info is presented to you the home owner and you will need to choose if you want to go for a regular tankless or a high efficiency condensing tankless water heater. All prices and cost will be shown and explained to you for your unique home and venting requirements.

If you decide to go with a tankless and before anything is done, if the home owner chooses we facilitate a home energy audit which costs $325 but gives $630 to $750 back automatically with any tankless install. This reduces the net price on any tankless water heater by $305 to $450 instantly, not to mention if you decide to perform any additional upgrades on your home (toilets, windows, furnace, air conditioner, insulation, etc) your able to receive the grants available from the government on those upgrades. OK, so energy audit is done.

Your old tank is removed and the new tanklesswater heater is installed, this takes roughly 3-5 hours depending difficulty. If you are on a rental contract for your old tank type water heater we will take care of all paper work and have the tank returned so you are not charged for it. If you owned the old tank we take it away and dispose of it properly (unless you want it for some reason).

Thats Pretty much what happens when you decide to have a tankless water heater installed with us. If you want further info fill out the form here and we can call or email any additional info you are looking for

Ontario is an extensive province with over 1 million square kilometers, in the continental US Texas is the largest state coming in at 6 hundred thousand square kilometer range. Our 4th largest province is nearly twice the size of the largest continental US state.

Thus we have a difficult time providing tankless water heaters to all of Ontario never-mind the rest of Canada, but we try our best. Below is a map of our primary service area where we are able to complete home energy audits and provide service and installation. We are selling individual units with no installation and these can be shipped nearly anywhere but for the most part you may find a cheaper unit near your home. If you’re inquisitive though send us a quick email and we can provide a price and shipping quote.

Energy Audits

Tan area – basically all of Ontario could be a week or more depends on where the next available auditor is.

Green area – roughly 2 to 5 business days

Pink area – usually within 1-3 days

Tankless Unit only

We routinely have units shipped within the same day of purchase (it does depend on the unit requested and if its one we have in stock)

Tankless Unit with Quote and Installation

Green Area - We can usually have a guy out to do a preliminary inspection and solidify a quote within 2-4 days and installation in another few days

Red Area – Quote and installation is routinely completed in under a week

Service Calls

We service most of southern Ontario and can do emergency calls, depending on where our service techs are we can sometimes be at a customers house in under 30 minutes.

See the contact page here (Contact Us) for more information on how we can be reached.
